Public Relations and Networking
The private sphere is political! Since its beginnings the women’s shelter movement has been fighting against patriarchal structures under this slogan as violence against women and children is not an isolated case. Following the tradition of autonomous women’s shelters, we do not limit ourselves to supporting and counselling women and children, but over and over again we put into question the social and political structures that are the cause for violence in the first place.
Together we can achieve more! For this reason, we are a member of the umbrella organisations Central Information Point for Autonomous Women’s Refuges (Zentrale Informationsstelle der autonomen Frauenhäuser – ZIF) and the Berlin women’s network (berliner frauen netzwerk – bfn). We also network with other women’s shelters, counselling centres and other anti-violence organisations in Berlin and nationwide.
